We are looking for stories that highlight the experiences of children growing up between cultures.
Imprint Focus:
Yali Books celebrates the rich cultures, histories, and traditions of South Asians around the world, emphasizing themes of equality, equity, and justice.
Modern Marigold Books amplifies the experiences of first-generation children, centering social and emotional growth, health, and wellbeing.
Manuscript submissions must demonstrate a clear connection to our broad publishing mission and one of our imprints.
We accept submissions in the following genres:
- Children's picture books: Grades K-3
- Early chapter book series: Grades 3-6
- Middle Grade: Grades 6-8
- Young Adult: Grades 8-12
Submissions can be fiction or nonfiction. Authors can submit illustrated manuscripts only if they are professional illustrators and can create the art for the book. This applies to all genres, including graphic novels.
