We had a lot of fun watching Billu Buttons come to life, especially because illustrator, Delzin Choksey cooked up a theatrical little sidekick to accompany Billu, Tikka the Hamster, our very first imaginary friend.
So who is Billu?
Billu is one confident kid. He knows the importance of believing in himself, especially when he can't get something right. His optimism shines bright and radiates to those around him, making him a natural influencer! He is a friend to all and loved by everyone, especially for his unique style.
Whether it’s singing with joy in class or practicing his buttoning, Billu is always accompanied by his trusty, imaginary sidekick, Tikka! Tikka is Billu’s biggest fan, and can often be found nearby with a snack and a smile.
With determination, grit, and a positive attitude, Billu and Tikka remind young readers it’s important to embrace yourself, just the way you are!
Delzin Coksey, is the brilliant illustrator behind Billu Buttons, and is an expert in design and illustration for children’s content. Originally from Mumbai, Delzin now lives in California with her family. She loves spending time at the park with her spirited kids, or baking something delicious at home.
